Veeco / MOCVD equipment Engineer/s / Technician/s needed

Must be a VEECO/MOCVD expert, tool owner, SME, subject matter expert

Possible Aixtron, Veeco / MOCVD equipment technicians may be needed prior to year-end 2019 as well

Veeco machines will be moved into the facility soon and will require this engineer to manage the install. In a nutshell the Engineer will develop Veeco procedures and train all maintenance staff to bring our Veeco equipment knowledge up to the same level as Aixtron reactors.  The Equipment Engineer would most likely be an hourly position; so, any time worked over 40+ a week would be paid at the normal time and a half.  I do not believe that this position will work on our normal compressed schedule and will be a Mon-Fri 7am-4pm/8am-5pm kind of schedule.

Summary of Role, Primary responsibility is the support of Veeco Epitaxial Reactors and associated equipment by ensuring the availability of the “Critical Components” (Spare parts) too allow for continuous production. Hands on Veeco maintenance, and/or supervision of the maintenance will be required. Other responsibilities will include keeping system drawings up to date after any ECOs have been completed using AutoCAD or Solidworks drawing software. Developing and maintaining Veeco maintenance procedures. Assist in the training and development of maintenance technicians on Veeco platform.

-Diagnoses system-level failures and anomalies by direct (hands-on) and indirect intervention (telecommunicate).

-Performs or assists in Preventative or Corrective maintenance cycles of Veeco equipment providing recommendations for continuous improvement of PM cycles.

-Performs or assists in failure analyses of equipment failures inclusive of providing recommendations for equipment.

-Mechanical design experience with SolidWorks or similar 3D CAD modeling system is required

-Act as a cross functional team lead to pull together software, hardware, and controls on some projects, act as the hardware representative for others.

-Develop less experienced engineers and technicians – you know how to coach and delegate to multiply your strengths and elevate others.

-Composes and maintain technical documents to be used by engineers and maintenance technicians inclusive of procedures, troubleshooting guides, and technical bulletins.

-Provides supplemental after-hours technical support for Maintenance personnel.

-Excellent oral and written communication skills

Other Functions

-Coordinate support from outside service technicians when needed.

-Active participation in A.M. Department meetings.

-Assist other groups as determined by department manager.

-Support Aixtron MOCVD production equipment and components when needed.

Qualifications/Experience

Minimum of 5 years’ experience in field service, applications engineering, or customer support in a high-tech manufacturing environment relevant electrical and mechanical systems. Vacuum process equipment experience preferred.

Education, a degree would be nice, B.S degree in a technical field (ME, EE) preferred, or extensive experience
