in the design and manufacturing of sensors and precision instrumentation for commercial,
military, and business and regional jet aircraft worldwide has an immediate
opening for a Senior Electrical Engineer.
We are seeking an
experienced professional in the field of electrical engineering with a focus on
video surveillance applications and image sensor integration to support the
development, qualification, and field support of aerospace sensors and systems.
The selected candidate will work in the Video Surveillance and Electronic
Flight Bag Design Engineering Group within Sensor and Integrated Systems,
United Technology Aerospace Systems.
PRIMARY OBJECTIVES:
Develop plans,
designs, and documentation for video surveillance products used in the
aerospace industry. Design responsibilities include (but are not limited to)
image sensor integration to FPGA’s and/or Processors, high-speed serial
communications, control systems, Ethernet protocol, video manipulation, video
compression, and video decompression. This function will require a working
understanding of electronic hardware and its interface to the embedded domain.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS -
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
BS degree in
Electrical or Computer Engineering. Advanced degree is desirable. 5+ years of
experience in a similar or related industry is required.
*Experience /
Qualifications
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
-High Speed Digital
Circuit Design.
-Understanding of
implementations of various video protocols, video compressions standards, and
digital video processing algorithms.
-Overall understanding
of HDL code for sophisticated PLD implementations.
-System level
understanding to integrate third party intellectual property into a PLD.
-Ability to assist in
a material way to the hardware design process.
-PCB schematic design.
-Use of development tools,
logic analyzers and various design tools.
-Familiarity with the
use of requirements tracking tools such as DOORS.
-Ability to write
clear design documentation and specifications.
PREFERABLE SKILLS:
-Experience with
Schematic Capture development tools such as Cadence or Allegro.
-Advanced
understanding of Video protocols, video compression standards, and video
processing applications.
-Knowledge of Image
Sensor technologies and understanding of system integration for video
surveillance applications.
-Knowledge of PLD and
DSP part architectures.
-Knowledge of video
standards.
-Experience with
computer aided engineering for design implementation and simulation.
-Digital video, video
compression (e.g. MPEG4), Ethernet, USB, ARINC 818, Fibre
Channel, other various SerDes protocols.
-Forward thinking,
creative, and innovative.
-Excellent
communication and analytical skills required.
-Ability to organize
tasks, work with a project plan, and focus on results.
-Ability to work
productively within a team environment.
-Focus on engineering
efficiency.
