The Senior Component EEE Parts Project Engineer specifies, supports and leads
engineering teams in the successful planning, design, development, and
qualification of electrical, electronic and electromechanical (EEE) components
for liquid rocket engines and propulsion systems for spacecraft and launch
vehicle applications.
40% - Author component specifications to
accurately and effectively communicate technical program requirements to
suppliers. Review supplier documentation and processes, as well as support
proposal activity by selecting or specifying components. Support programs with
submittals and justifications to the appropriate Parts Materials Processes
Control Board. And may act as the EEE Parts Lead for large programs.
30% - Use a combination of technical and
business skills to specify and support EE design in the incorporation of
electrical components into complex system designs as part of a highly matrixed
team organization for aerospace propulsion systems. Electrical components
include but are not limited to hybrids, relays, microcircuits, semiconductors,
power microelectronics and magnetics.
30% - Formal problem solving, failure
analysis, destructive part analysis and understanding diagnostic tools in the
application of semiconductor and passive components in space flight
electronics.
SECONDARY FUNCTIONS:
-Other duties as assigned.
Requires a Bachelor's degree in Electrical
Engineering and at least 5 years of experience in specifying and procuring high
reliability electronics components (such as diodes, transistors, microcircuits,
hybrids, relays and passive devices). Must be able to take on leadership roles.
Ability to work collaboratively with internal program management, team members
and suppliers a must. Understanding of radiation requirements, working
knowledge of EEE military specifications and GIDEP system required. Familiarity
with formal problem solving and failure analysis tools and techniques
preferred. Experience with MRP system, subcontracts and purchase orders
helpful. Requires the ability and willingness to travel as needed. Must be able
to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance at the appropriate level
(requires U.S. Citizenship).

materials are encountered.
