JOB SUMMARY: This position is responsible for performing complex maintenance and repair of semiconductor manufacturing equipment in a 24/7 manufacturing environment.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

1.Perform scheduled PM’s on time in an effort to reduce equipment downtime.

2.Work diligently with the EPI/WLP team to perform corrective maintenance on down tools in an effort to bring back to production as quickly as possible.

3.Maintains a thorough understanding of the importance of adhering to company quality and safety procedures.

 

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

-Troubleshoot a variety of tools for electrical, mechanical or vacuum issues

-Dismantle, adjust and repair equipment according to maintenance specifications and repair manuals

-Maintains records and reports as required

-Coordinates activities with peers, supervisors and customers to minimize equipment downtime and interruptions to ensure production requirements can be achieved

-Remains current on equipment/tools through appropriate training and manuals

-Train and guide other technicians

-Drive solutions and guidelines by recommending and writing maintenance procedures and specifications

-Perform scheduled tool PM’s and qualifications

-Identifies maintenance repair parts and ensure parts are ordered

-Assists in maintaining sufficient parts inventory

-Learns and follows all safety policies and chemical handling guidelines

-Maintains a clean and orderly work area

-Work as part of a team with other technicians and vendors to update schematics, install retrofits and upgrades

 

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

•Minimum of an Associate degree in Electronics Engineering Technology, Bachelor degree preferred or extensive equipment experience and a HS Diploma or GED.

•Military Electronics in lieu of an Associate degree is also acceptable with the right tool experience.

 

OTHER SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

•Ability to work overnight shifts on a compressed schedule which may include weekend nights

•Previous experience in maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of equipment

•Thorough understanding of vacuum, RF, AC/DC, PLC  and digital electronic theory

•The ability to assemble, disassemble and reassemble complex mechanical assemblies

•Strong work ethic, positive attitude, punctual with a superior good attendance record

 

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

Experience in a semiconductor manufacturing plant specifically working in the EPI or WLP process area on AMAT Centura, ASM Epsilon, EpiPro, Compression Mold, Plating tool sets, highly preferred however, will train the right candidate.

 

This position may require the ability to wear personal protective equipment and respirators during certain maintenance procedures that may include chemicals, electric currents or high voltage, moving mechanical parts, radiation, etc.
