JOB SUMMARY: This position reports to the Director of Engineering and is responsible for managing the photolithography, etch, & thinning modules of the Process Engineering staff. It includes responsibility for controlled introduction of process changes that support yield improvement, quality improvement, new process introductions, and cost reductions.  This position has a key influence on creating a sense of urgency and customer focus within the organization.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

1.Work in conjunction with Operations, Design, Product Engineering, Maintenance and Quality Management to address specific areas.

2.Establish clear department and individual goals for the Process Engineering group to ensure that the efforts of the group support the common goals of the factory.

3.Provide leadership in establishing and maintaining a positive work environment.

4.Responsible for clear communication of priorities and responsibilities to the Process Engineering staff.

 

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

-Spec documentation including shop instructions, OCAP’s, process travelers, control plans, FMEA’s, Reduction of Customer CARs and Maverick Lots.

-Quality improvement and maintenance of ISO requirements/certifications.

-Project planning and coordination.

-Control process change to ensure regular, reliable, and repeatable performance.

-Cost reduction by reducing the cost of processing by evaluating alternatives such as efficient use of chemicals, efficient use of equipment and labor, and evaluating other alternative solutions.

-Work closely with the operations manager to reduce cycle time, the Equipment Manager to improve Equipment Up-Time, and the Quality organization to improve Process Capability.

-Assist in the introduction of new processes and products into production and work closely with Product Development to expand production capability when required.

-Work across the organization to drive yield improvement, cost, cycle time and new products introduction

-Mentor and lead the module personnel.

 

EDUCTATION REQUIREMENTS:

•Bachelor’s in Engineering or Physics.  Master’s preferred.

•7+ years’ experience in the semiconductor industry.

 

OTHER SKILLS REQUIREMENTS:

•Hands-on experience with semiconductor wafer processing equipment and materials, highly preferred, including; SVG coater and developer tracks, Canon MPA, Canon i3 and i4 steppers, Karl Suss, Semitool Sirius Ozone Stripper, Semitool SAT, Lam and P5000 Dry Etcher, Disco Polisher, Advantek Laminator, Lintec Delaminator, and Wet Etch processing.

•In depth understanding of Optics and/or chemical process specific to lithography and etch.

•Ability to positively and effectively interact with internal and external customers, including working with customers to understand new processes and device concepts.

•Strong comprehension of SPC, FMEA methodology, DOE, FA, etc.

•Excellent influential leadership skills, good deductive skills, detail oriented, resourceful, and the ability to manage shifting priorities.

•Excellent written and verbal communications and presentation skills required.
