General Summary of Purpose
Provide support for all
aspects of production in the areas of Metalization,
This position will require a good understanding of the principles
involved in semiconductor wafer processing and a good working level knowledge
of the equipment used in thin film (PVD) deposition as well as the support
equipment used to monitor these processes. The Process Engineer is responsible
for maintaining a high level of out-going quality from the wafer fab, as well
as development of various processes to support the growth of new products. This
position requires the initiation and implementation of process changes that
will improve yield, reduced production cycle time, lower cost, and improve
quality.
Principal Duties and
Responsibilities:
1. Work with other Process
Engineers to Support production operation on a daily basis. This involves
maintaining shop instructions, troubleshooting production equipment, reporting
of key area performance indices, and training key operators.
2. Identify and evaluate
new process technologies to increase the efficiency of the Metalization
area.
3. Assist in Engineering
Product and Process improvement studies by evaluating process control wafers
and process characterizations as needed. Evaluate and disposition maverick
product in the area, with the help of the Product Engineer.
4. Assist in evaluation of
process and material changes that will help to reduce cost and improve yield,
quality, and throughput.
5. Establish good channels
of communication for all shifts and support the area team in maintaining
pass-down logs, equipment status, etc. to improve communication in the area.
6. Provide Area
documentation in the form of Shop Instructions, FMEAs, ECNs, TECNs, and SWRs.
7. Provide Training to
operators and trouble shooting support to technicians
when needed.
Knowledge, Skills and
Abilities
Education
· Candidates should have
minimum of Bachelors of Science in Engineering.
· Candidates should
possess good communications skills and be aggressive in driving change.
· Candidate should be open
to on-going education to keep current with industry trends.
Experience
· Minimum of 5 years in semiconductor wafer processing or similar
manufacturing environment.
· Familiarity with standard industry practices.
· Experience in plasma processing, high vacuum systems, PVD, and a
strong mechanical background are preferred.
· Familiarity with Varian 3180, 3190, 3280 and 3290 sputter tools, Anelva evaporators, Endura 5500, MatVac 943 and related metrology equipment.
· Semiconductor experience with Schottky,
Planar PN Junction, and MOSFET Devices is preferred.
Other Qualifications and Requirements
Good knowledge of Windows, Excel, PowerPoint, Access and Word
software.
