GaN Technology Manager
This is a manager of PROCESS and will NOT oversee any people. This
individual sits within our group technology department which is responsible for
R&D and moving product from R&D to production. It is a VERY
customer centric role so the individual must be
technically GaN savvy on III-Nitride epi growth and
CUSTOMER savvy (meaning good communication skills).
This is NOT a manager role…but process and project management).
Job Summary & Responsibilities, The GaN
Technology Manager serves the following key functions as a member of the Unit
as a Technical Point of Contact (TPOC) for assigned technologies / customers;
technical leader for assigned development programs; technical leader in
identifying and investigating next generation technologies and advisor
regarding generic product and process improvements required to maintain
competitiveness in relevant markets
Serve as first point of technical contact and Technology Team lead
for designated GaN customers – technical face to
assigned customers.
Technical responsibility for Development Programs for key
customers as assigned. This will require close interaction with local
site engineering and program management teams.
Lead assigned development and process / product transfers –
responsible for setting budgets (time and financial) and driving to stay on
budget while achieving technical objectives.
Communicate internally with the technical and commercial entities
of the group about current and next generation technologies; offer justified
opinions about programs and technologies worth pursuing.
Support the group as required for customer queries, opportunity
reviews, continuous improvement, etc.
Minimum Qualifications
Four-year degree in Science or Engineering or equivalent experience
necessary to perform job responsibilities (advanced degree is highly
preferred). Plus a minimum of five years epitaxial
growth experience.
Fluent understanding of III-Nitride semiconductor growth by MOVPE
Fluent understanding of crystal growth equipment and impact of
epitaxial growth processes on device performance
Proficiency with materials characterization techniques for wide
bandgap semiconductors
Familiarity with III-Nitride semiconductor device fabrication and
device testing
Advanced understanding of semiconductor physics and the theory of
III-Nitride semiconductor devices
Excellent written and verbal communication skills necessary for
effective interaction with internal personnel and external customers
