Engineering Manager
Preference is to have someone with III-V and GaN
knowledge although it seems like we will also consider candidates with
strong manufacturing management from the industry (preferably with some sort of
advanced degree). Salary up to $150,000;
will relocate

Summary of Role, The GaN Engineering Manager is responsible for supervising,
mentoring, encouraging and reviewing process engineers related to GaN at the site. As
a process engineering team, the Manager leads the team to ensure all qualified
wafer products consistently meet specifications and manufacturing metrics as
documented in the manufacturing specifications.
This role is the “front-line” responsibility for ensuring that each and
every shipment is manufactured within family and any indications and tell-tales
of process and equipment change are immediately identified, investigated for
root cause and returned to in-tolerance variations prior to product
shipment. This individual must therefore
interact very closely with Operations, Characterization, GaN
Technology, Facilities and Quality so all manufacturing aspects are controlled
and optimized for yield and throughput as well as minimal cost.

•Ability to communicate,
motivate, critique and review the members of the GaN
process engineering team.
•Knowledge, experience and
ability to understand and enhance the manufacturing equipment (epi tools), the
epi processes, in-line metrology results and quick lot (QL) device fabrication
processes results to reproducibly manufacture qualified product wafers.
•The investigative
curiosity, creative mindset and data-oriented ability to quickly and succinctly
solve manufacturing and technology issues related to quality wafer products as
well as issues of continuous improvement and cost reduction.
•The willingness and
ability to professionally interact with personnel and management, customers and
suppliers as part of project and/or troubleshooting teams.
•Ability to prepare annual
operating plans and subsequent periodic reports detailing results to plan and
continually streamline reports to include automated data entry.
•Ability to create or direct
the creation of data queries, reports and software views which enhance the
gathering, presentation and analysis of equipment, process and device data.

leadership and example to all site personnel.
Other Functions, Periodic
travel by car, train and plane may be required domestically and
internationally.
Qualifications/Experience
5+ years in
III-V epitaxial material growth, including solid understanding of equipment and
process.
2+ years in
engineering management.
Solid SPC
experience (JMP a plus).
Experience growing/forming
a team is beneficial.
Education, BS in engineering, physics, material science or related
field. MA or advance degree is beneficial.
