JOB SUMMARY:  This position reports to the Product Engineering Manager and is responsible for participating in the design and component selection of diodes, rectifiers, MOSFETs and transistors. It includes responsibility of working with the R&D team with selection of the best and most suitable technology for a given project. This position will provide technical assessment of known and emerging technologies in the semiconductor field that are relevant to the operation and power management of electronic devices. 

This position will isolate the technologies that are more in demand and likely endure into the future and explore the emerging alternatives to the existing technologies.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:  

1. Design Management in key areas of Device Design, Material selection, and Process Development

2. Generation of process integration specifications

3. Integration of various process modules into a process flow

 

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Design, develop and characterize state-of-the-art high voltage (>600V) silicon power devices, low and medium voltage Zener diodes, 100V-    1200V switching diodes, Shottky barrier diodes and small and medium power bipolar transistors.

• Specific tool of Silvaco modeling and simulation and involvement in mask design.

• Collaborate with product and process engineering groups on development of robust and cost effective processes and troubleshoot device    related problems till high reliability cost effective end product is developed.

• Develop and maintain an in-depth understanding of the technical developments and trends in the field of high voltage (>600V) power device process technologies, in order to develop best in class solutions.

 

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

• Minimum of MS in Physics or Electrical Engineering

 

OTHER SKILLS REQUIREMENTS:

• Familiarity with state-of-the art technologies in the semiconductor industry

• Hands-on experience with semiconductor process and devices simulation

• Strong device physics background

• Specific experience in discrete device design (Diodes, Rectifiers, MOSFETs, Transistors)

• Minimum 7 years’ experience in semiconductor device and technology development

• Experience in layout design and in effective interaction with reticle fabrication companies

• Strong communication skills and collaborative ability across all operational levels

• Solid problem solving and analytical skills

• Project Management

 

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

• Patent portfolio a plus
