Automotive Power and Semiconductor Engineer

 

We are looking for an experienced Power and Semiconductor Application Engineer in our Automotive and Energy Organization. As a Power Application Engineer, you will be the lead technical interface working with our field sales team and leading automotive technology companies.  Understanding measurement challenges, proposing solutions using our products and demonstrating our ability to help customers be successful in areas such as EV integration, battery and charging component and system test, converter/inverter design verification and test, etc. are key aspects to this position.  Additionally, this position leads development and delivery of technical seminars, requirements analysis, benchmarks, and engineering services. 

This position is setup with an attractive 90% salary and 10% incentive pay plan that includes the opportunity to achieve higher than 100% of target pay once targets and contributions are exceeded in the current 6 month incentive plan period.

The ability to communicate your thoughts, ideas, and point of view is very important in this position. You must demonstrate the ability to work closely in teams. We are looking for candidates that have demonstrated leadership skills and have the ability to be dynamic and persuasive in a professional setting.

Job Qualifications

• This position requires at least 3 years of Automotive engineering experience related to power and semiconductor applications.

• Strong knowledge in EV and Lithium-ion battery development, integration and test.

• Experience in AC-DC, DC-DC, and DC-AC converter/inverter verification and test.

• Understanding of power electronics control algorithms and firmware development, electronics hardware development for laboratory control and data acquisition systems.

• Understanding of power semiconductor test for (IGBTs, FETs, Diodes, SiC devices, GaN) devices.

• Knowledge in programming/scripting languages including C, C++, C#, Python, Perl, Matlab and Labview for use in measurement instruments automation.

• This is a field application engineering position and candidate must be able to drive company provided vehicle and physically fit to be able to transport test equipment to/from customer site.

• BS/MS in Electrical Engineering or equivalent education with emphasis in Automotive RF and microwave systems.

• candidates must be a US Citizen or Permanent Resident.
