Workday Business Systems Consultant

 

Primary responsibilities include support and maintenance of our company's global Workday HR application.

Responsibilities include:

Analyze and document business processes within existing Human Capital Management (HCM) system (Workday).

Analyze system functionality with customers, identify gaps and support/configure HR systems to meet existing business requirements.

Prepare written documentation - both functional and technical - for a wide variety of system analysis or specifications.

Provide recommendations and assist to implement changes to existing business processes and to HCM systems.

Develop test procedures, test scenarios, and test cases; execute test scripts; and document and communicate the results.

Interact and communicate with project team members to ensure the successful delivery and implementation of system updates and modifications into production.

Assist project team in the processes and procedures related to the security accreditation of new or modified applications.

Act as key liaison between business users and technical team to analyze business functional requirements and evaluate HR functionality to meet business needs.

Solve helpdesk cases and provide answers/ solutions for the implemented HR functions of personnel administration, organization management, compensation management, benefits and manager self-service.

Translate conceptual user requirements into functional requirements in a clear manner that is comprehensible to developers/project team.

Lead small projects, assess impact of change requests and provide work estimates.

Participate in other cross-functional process improvements as necessary.

 

Skills/Experience Requirements

Seven or more years of Human Capital Management (HCM) system(s) experience; developing/configuring HR applications such as Personnel Administration, Organization Management, Compensation Management, Absence Management, Time Management and other HR capabilities (Performance Management, Benefits, Learning Management).

In-depth IT experience in support of human resource processes such as employee data management, organizational structure management.

Detailed knowledge of systems development cycles and methodologies.

Knowledge of integration points with major payroll and benefits vendors.

Knowledge of HCM application security and its interdependencies in other areas of the system.

Excellent analytical skills, problem solving abilities, and the ability to quickly learn new areas.

Must have the ability to communicate ideas in both technical and user-friendly language.

Dedication to meeting the expectations and requirements of internal and external customers.

Highly self-motivated and directed and the ability to multi task and prioritize work.

Logical and efficient with a keen attention to detail and high energy/sense of urgency.

Knowledge of Workday HCM system, Compensation module, and Benefits module is preferred, but candidates with equivalent HCM system knowledge in these functional areas and experience will be considered.

Must have systems implementation/support experience with Web-based and Client/Server applications;

Must have experience in business and systems analysis, design, development and support of HR business systems with formal SDLC and/or PMO methodologies;

Must have demonstrated experience leading small to mid-size projects;

Must have excellent verbal/written communication, user interaction and interpersonal skills and work well in a team environment.

BA/BS degree in Computer Science or work experience equivalent
