Payroll manager
Purpose of Position -
Manages the preparation and distribution of the organization's hourly and
salaried payrolls for single or multiple locations. Oversees the maintenance of
earnings and deduction records. Ensures that all taxes, Social Security
contributions, contributions to employee benefit programs, and other deductions
are withheld from individual paychecks. Directs the preparation and filing of
required reports and/or payments to government agencies, insurance carriers,
other organizations and individual employees. Serves as liaison with other
departments, units, or locations in the resolution of payroll problems.
Recommends changes in methods or procedures to improve the efficiency of the
payroll function.
Key Responsibilities
-Direct the processing
of all payrolls to ensure that all associates are paid in a timely and accurate
manner.
-Manage the time
management processes that results in the accurate reporting of worked and
non-worked hours and earnings. This process also provides our management team
with a tool to manage their direct and indirect labor forces. This
includes acting as the System Administrator of ADP eTime.
-Manage the Payroll
Admin in all areas of responsibility which includes and is not limited to
assisting with complex payroll entries and interpreting and following all
posted policies and procedures as well as communicating with ADP Client
Services for the purpose of resolving multiple types of payroll and timekeeping
issues (examples; cross quarter and/or year adjustments, setting up new tax
jurisdictions, etc.).
-Responsible for the
accurate reporting of all payroll expense into the GL (including journal entries,
month end accruals, and reconciliations related to payroll).
-Responsible for all
post payroll processing reports to management team (examples; Overtime,
Headcount and any Ad Hoc reports)
-Audit and balance
quarter-end wage & tax data and balance data to ADPs quarter-end wage
& tax reports to ensure accurate year end W2 information and quarter-end
and year-end federal and state tax returns.
-ADP Netsecure
System Administrator (Password resets, registration support, etc.)
-Act as liaison with
Danaher Corporate for payroll system initiatives, payroll changes, and
reporting.
-Payroll coordination
for audits (internal, external, and SOX.
-Special projects as
assigned.
Qualifications
Background and Skill
BS or BA in
business/finance or equivalent experience
Minimum 5 - 7 years
experience in a payroll role
Experience with
multi-state payroll taxes
Proficient in
Microsoft Excel
Good problem solving
and analytical skills
Good written and
communication skills
Experience with ADP Payforce, ADP Reporting, and ADP eTime/Kronos
