HR Manager 

This role is responsible for leading human resource initiatives and promoting a high performance environment, including leadership effectiveness, staffing and sourcing, talent development, compensation, policy compliance, time and attendance, safety awareness, employee relations, and communications for the Puerto Rico Operations organization. Emphasis will be placed on aligning human resources initiatives with business objectives and promoting a high performance environment. This position is based in Santa Isabel, PR.

  

Highlights of job duties include:

- Work as a strategic partner to implement strategies that increase employee engagement and retention

- Work in partnership with leadership to communicate and implement HR programs that support business goals and drive results

- Work with business leaders and managers to optimize team development and organization effectiveness

- Deliver timely, high quality and impactful employee communications

- Lead and support business initiatives while effectively planning and managing employment cost

- Utilize critical thinking skills when assessing issues

- Champion ACE process improvement initiatives and fully contribute as a member of the cell

- Lead recruitment efforts with a focus on bringing in diverse talent and building bench strength

- Compile, analyze and report Human Resources metrics

- Ensure compliance with applicable employment laws through appropriate program and process management, as well as ad hoc situation analysis and subsequent plans of actions

- Conduct timely investigations, prepare documentation and make appropriate recommendations

- Identify employee relations issues; and address with cost effective solutions

- Provide training and development activities

- Counsel Managers through challenging performance management situations. Support managers in developing and communicating plans to address areas of improvement

- Responsible for leading complex and large projects to add value to the business

- Provide leadership and develop the team by applying knowledge of multiple functional areas

- Directly supervise HR team members

  

- 4 year degree is a must

- 10+ years of progressive experience including leadership roles

- Hands-on Human Resources experience supporting large client groups, preferably in a manufacturing environment.

- Demonstrated experience working with senior leaders, influencing HR practices effectively across all levels of the organization

- Proven ability to work with business partners to advance safety, quality, and productivity while effectively managing employment cost

- Advanced level skills with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word & PowerPoint)

- Strong analytical skills with demonstrated ability to pull complex data from assorted sources and synthesize in both graphic and verbal format

- Proven ability to influence and work effectively across all levels of the organization

- Demonstrates discretion, able to work with sensitive and confidential materials and possess good business judgment

- General knowledge of employment law (such as the ADA, EEO, ERISA, FLSA, FMLA, NRLA, & Title VII) and ability to apply legal concepts to real world situations

- Proven ability to administer leave of absences (FMLA, STD, LTD) etc.

- Self-initiative and fast learner, able to readily apply knowledge gained in one situation to others

- Strong project management skills, highly organized with strong attention to detail, while also able to manage multiple priorities

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills

- Unwavering customer service orientation, and demonstrated experience providing sound HR guidance to clients

- Proven ability to deal with conflict and diffuse difficult situations

- Capability to work on tasks where limited to no written procedures and protocols exist, following broad based verbal guidance to determine the best course of action

- Capable of developing standard work for others to effectively follow

- Capable of developing high performing talent into effective leaders

- Demonstrated aptitude to find and attract talent

- Superior follow-up and follow-through skills
