SPEECH LAN PATH I - outpatient pediatrics 

Description: Reporting to the Manager of Rehabilitation Services provides diagnostic and therapeutic intervention for speech, language, voice, swallowing and fluency disorders. Functions as an integral member of the rehabilitation team attending conferences and in servicing team members as to the effects of communication and swallowing disorders. Provides diagnostic and therapeutic services to inpatients and outpatients for speech pathology services.
  
four 10 hour shifts
  
Qualifications:
100% pediatrics, outpatient
experience required, no CFY
Bilingual Spanish preferred
Current licensure in the State of Illinois as a Speech Language Pathologist.
One (1) to two (2) years of experience within a clinical/hospital setting is highly desirable.
The level of knowledge normally acquired through the completion of a Master’s Degree in Speech and Language Pathology.
The ability to function as part of a multidisciplinary treatment team, to share professional knowledge, to develop integrated treatment plans and to gain peer support for the patient’s speech and pathology regimen.
The ability to be flexible to the needs of the patient and to the needs of hospital management and staff and the ability to adopt programs and procedures to accommodate the situation.
The creativity needed to develop treatment approaches to address individual specific patient problems.
Strong verbal and written skills to communicate program needs, assess program activity, conduct therapy and interface with patients and family.
Current CPR certification.
