NURSE PRACTITIONER - PSYCH/INTAKE UNIT (FULL-TIME/DAYS) - $7,500 SIGN-ON BONUS AVAILABLE FOR EXPERIENCED NURSE PRACTITIONER

Description: 

 In collaboration with psychiatrist:

1. Assist in the implementation of the discharge process to promote continuity of care and optimize patient care.

2. Gathers patient data from various sources. Develops, documents and implements initial plan for medical management of patient’s condition and/or problems in collaboration with psychiatrist and/or disciplinary team.

3. Responsible and accountable for efficient time and resource management in accomplishing acceptable work volumes.

4. Identifies the needs of the mentally ill patient and family.

5. Prescribes therapeutic measures and medications according to the State of Alabama. Demonstrates competency in principles of medication dosing and mechanism of action related to specific diagnosis.

6. Functions as change agent.

Qualifications: 

Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing and an accredited Nurse Practitioner program. Must have a minimum of two years of In-Patient Psychiatric experience as a staff nurse.
