Cyber Systems Engineer

We are looking to fill a key role, Cyber Systems Engineer, that will conduct contract penetration testing (Cyber Security) for a government IC Customer.  This position will support activities of the group to target, assess, exploit, and report risks and vulnerabilities of organization systems in order to provide senior decision makers with actionable data to make strategic investment decisions.  The position will be in New Jersey

 

Job Description:

Document all identified system risks, planned test procedures, and test results

Provide enhancement capabilities and SOPs to assessment operations for execution and implementation

Maintain accountability to ensure integrity and confidentiality of the process

Provide analysis of vulnerabilities

Review and make recommendations on program-level documentation (e.g., requirements specification, system architecture, design documents, test plans, security plans, etc.)

Develop and document security evaluation test plan and procedures

Assist in researching, evaluating, and developing relevant Information Security policies and guidance

Actively participate in or lead technical exchange meetings and application review boards, documenting actions items/results of these events

Brief management, as needed, on the status of action items and/or results of activities

Conduct hands-on security testing, analyze test results, document risk, and recommend countermeasures

Coordinate with other program elements conducting security testing

Assess/calculate risk based on threats, vulnerabilities, and shortfalls uncovered in testing

Identify mitigating countermeasures to identified threats, vulnerabilities, and shortfalls

Development and evaluation of new processing approaches and algorithms, and simulation of existing EW hardware, firmware, and processing algorithms

Ensure the logical and systemic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints.

Development of Cyber tools to enable accurate analysis and assessment of EW system performance

Support to development of system requirements, proposals, technical briefings, and reports.

Perform functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements, and allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.

Perform systems architectural development

Cost and Risk and Supportability and Effectiveness analyses for total systems (concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance & disposal)

Work in a highly dynamic hardware & software development and integration lab

 

Qualifications:

Bachelors of Science (or the equivalent) in Engineering, plus 10 years of related Systems Engineer/Cyber Security experience

job experience with advanced penetration testing, system exploitation, and cyber security engineering including creating systems and applications security test plans and performing hands-on security testing leveraging adversarial tactics

job experience performing network security analysis as well as working with network management tools

job experience with risk management methodologies as well as analyzing test results and suggesting mitigation plans for security problems

job experience with system configuration, development, and design specifically around enterprise systems, network architectures and hypervisors

Development, engineering, interfacing and integration of security test plans and performing hands-on security testing leveraging adversarial tactics

Software components including firmware, operating systems, drivers, applications and other computing system software

Hardware components including electrical equipment, digital processing hardware (ASIC, CPLD, FPGA), circuit boards, microprocessor systems, computer system architectures and interfaces

Strong self-motivation and initiative

Familiarity with airborne electronic warfare domain is preferred

Preferred Additional skills:

Demonstrated on-the-job experience with public and private information security groups and organizations is desired

Demonstrated on-the-job experience with information security policies and guidance, as well as assisting in researching, evaluating, and developing relevant security policies and guidance desired

Certification in cyber security or penetration testing disciplines.

(OSCP) Offensive Security Certified Professional Certification

 

This position requires the candidate to already possess an active security clearance. In order to obtain a clearance you need to be a US Citizen and show proof of citizenship.
