Director & Actuary, Experience Analytics, Research & Development, Long Term Care

SUMMARY

This actuarial role is a member of the Long Term Care (LTC) Experience Analytics, Research and Development team. The primary goals of this team are to create appropriate product risk assumptions for valuation, pricing and projections; maintain and enhance the actuarial experience data warehouse; support other functional areas that have limited actuarial, risk, and LTC business knowledge; and to develop appropriate metrics to monitor and mitigate emerging Long Term Care insurance risks.

RESPONSIBILITIES

•Collaborate with actuarial, finance, risk, and operations associates to create LTC experience metrics for our Individual and Group LTC businesses

•Engage with Experience Analytics, Research and Development team members to lead projects and to generate ad hoc and standard experience studies

•Provide support for in force management and new product introductions

•Work on the development and production of business projection assumptions

•Be able to respond to questions from senior leadership, auditors, consultants, reinsurers, and other interested parties

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

•Fellow in the Society of Actuaries (FSA) or Associate in the Society of Actuaries (ASA) with commensurate experience

•5 + years of relevant actuarial experience in the Life insurance industry

•Excellent oral and written communications skills

•Strong programming skills

•Superior problem solving skills

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

•7 + years of relevant actuarial experience in the Life insurance industry, preferably Long Term Care

•Strong actuarial modeling skills (at a minimum mastery in Access/Excel)

•Knowledge of SQL/SAS

•Able to manage concurrent deadlines and multiple priorities

•Ability to document processes well

•Attention to detail, strong focus on accuracy and ability to review actuarial processes
