Director & Actuary, AXIS Team, Annuities

SUMMARY

This position will be a member of the Annuity AXIS Conversion team with primary responsibilities including planning, designing, and building actuarial models in AXIS for Fixed Annuities.

RESPONSIBILITIES

•Plan, design, and build Valuation, Pricing, and Projection models in AXIS

•Collaborate with IT team to plan, design, and build supporting database systems

•Perform reconciliations to existing Actuarial models

•Research product features, assumptions, and reporting requirements

•Write specifications, test, and implement AXIS modifications, changes, and enhancements

•Develop production processes and documentation

•Design and implement financial reporting controls and management reporting metrics

•Provide valuation and projection production support as needed

•Support product line and corporate initiatives

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

•Fellow of the Society of Actuaries, near FSA, or ASA with commensurate experience

•5+ years relevant actuarial experience

•BA/BS Degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics or related major

•2+ years experience using AXIS modeling software package

•Advanced use of Excel

•Demonstrated leadership ability; team player

•Excellent written and oral communication skills

•Ability to manage concurrent deadlines and multiple priorities in an organized manner

•Detail and hands-on oriented with strong problem solving and analytical skills

•Knowledgeable in GAAP, Statutory and Tax financial reporting requirements

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

•Annuity product experience

•Strong proficiency using AXIS Software including Datalink

•Programming experience, especially Visual Basic and/or SQL

•Experience in building and/or converting models

•Proficiency of GAAP, Statutory and Tax financial reporting requirements
