Commercial Product Director
Job Summary, As a Strategic Manager you will need to know every
aspects of the assigned product for all states. You will sets operating
standards for growth, service and profitability and direct a staff of Product
Managers to excellence.
Responsibilities will include:
Overall accountability to meet profit and top
line growth and profit goals as agreed to with the VP or AVP of the assigned
product line.
Recruiting, developing, training and
supervising individual State or Industry Product Managers.
Coordinating with other product executives
in the development of product lines and strategies that align with each other
to meet customer and distribution force requirements.
Consulting with the VP of Marketing and
Marketing Zone Executives on product marketing and sales initiatives.
Reporting results to manager and senior
level managers on a regular basis and when called upon.
Coordinating with Home Office Underwriting
Staff to develop underwriting protocols and risk appetite.
Negotiating strategies and sets short and
long-term priorities to align product goals with the State Executives.
Working with Actuarial to plan and
establish countrywide pricing strategies creating growth opportunities while
maintaining the necessary profit.
understanding
analytical information and presentations to make product decisions.
Developing market strategies through class
and risk management techniques.
Creating product initiatives, rating and
filing strategies.
Working with the Home Office Claims
Department in the review of claim management protocols, state loss trends and
large loss reviews.
Overseeing research of national, state and
product industry trends to develop strategies that take advantage of changing
markets prior to the competition.
Working with the line VP or AVP to develop
short and long-term projects.
Obtaining approval of Senior Management
and works with the Project Management Office in the oversight of projects
through implementation.
Working with IT in the planning,
development and implementation of system changes and other automation
projects.
The right candidate will have a Four-year degree and a CPCU is
strongly preferred. Ten years of product and/or underwriting management
experience is also required along with strong leadership skills and a
commitment to upholding excellence. Must be skilled at developing and
presenting product knowledge, business plans, and line objectives.
