SUMMARY

Perform Model Development work in Long-Term Care Valuation & Projections

RESPONSIBILITIES

The primary function of the role is to support LTC Valuation and Projection related model changes for the Genworth Long Term Care business - the market leader in Long Term Care Insurance. The responsibilities include:

•Maintain, improve and develop comprehensive valuation and projection models including coordination of such efforts across functional areas and assist the team leader in support of these

•Help maintain and improve current LTC ALR and DLR models used for valuation, LTC ALM models used for CFT, LRT, and Economic Capital

•Perform ad hoc actuarial requests

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

•BA/BS Degree in Math, Science or Engineering related major

•ASA designation in the Society of Actuaries

•Sound understanding of insurance terminologies and basic accounting concepts

•Knowledge of actuarial software such as AXIS, Polysystems or MG-Alfa

•Experience in Microsoft desktop applications: Excel & VBA, Access

•2+ years of actuarial experience

•Proactive learner and self-driven to succeed

•Communication skills, both oral and written

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

•Near FSA with 5+years of actuarial experience

•Basic insurance accounting knowledge

•Some knowledge and experience in Disability Income or Long Term Care Insurance Products

•Programming and actuarial modeling skills in building projection and pricing models (at a minimum mastery in Access/Excel)

•Proficiency in VBA or any other programming language

•Knowledge of SQL / SAS

•Analytical and problem solving skills

•Attention to detail, strong focus on accuracy and be able to review actuarial processes

•Ability to meet project deadlines and manage multiple priorities

•Excellent oral and written communications skills and being able to document processes well

•Flexible team player, self-driven, motivated and shows initiative and ownership in tasks
