Associate Actuary, Life Inforce

SUMMARY

This role is an integral part of the Life Inforce Department, with responsibility for facilitating a data driven approach to problem solving and preparing operational and other metrics packages for analysis.

RESPONSIBILITIES

•Prepare weekly/monthly/quarterly metrics packages for further analysis

•Prepare materials for the Life Interest Rate Committee

•Run ad hoc queries using various Life data bases in support of Inforce management projects and requests

•Drive improvements in key business processes

•Define additional data elements necessary to manage business performance and work with IT to implement production of those elements

•Support USLI initiatives as appropriate

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

•Associate of the Society of Actuaries, or commensurate experience

•2+ years demonstrated experience in a dynamic business environment

•BA/BS Degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics or related major

•Advanced use of Excel

•Demonstrated team player

•Excellent written and oral communication skills

•Ability to manage concurrent deadlines and multiple priorities in an organized manner

•Detail and hands-on oriented, with strong problem solving

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

•Near FSA with 5+ years of actuarial experience

•Insurance product and process knowledge

•Experience using SQL, SAS, Visual Basic, Business Objects or related software tools

•Excellent project management skills
